Refund & Cancellation Policy

The American Institute of Bankers (AIB) is committed to maintaining transparency and fairness in all financial transactions related to membership, certification programs, training services, and corporate solutions. This Refund & Cancellation Policy outlines the terms governing fee payments, cancellations, and refund eligibility.

1. General Policy

All fees paid to AIB are subject to the terms outlined below.

  • Unless otherwise specified in writing, fees are generally non-transferable and non-refundable, except in circumstances explicitly stated in this policy.
  • Refunds, if applicable, will be processed using the original method of payment.

2. Membership Fees

A. Application Fees

Membership application fees are non-refundable once the review process has commenced.

B. Annual Membership Fees
  • Membership fees are non-refundable once membership has been activated.
  • Failure to utilize membership benefits does not qualify for a refund.
  • In cases of duplicate payment or administrative error, AIB may issue a refund after verification.

3. Certification Programs

A. Enrollment Cancellation (Before Program Access)

Participants may request cancellation within a specified period (e.g., 5–7 business days) before access to course materials or examination scheduling. If approved:

  • An administrative processing fee may apply.
  • The remaining balance may be refunded.
B. After Program Access or Exam Registration

No refunds will be issued once:

  • Access to learning materials has been granted
  • Examination has been scheduled
  • Digital content has been downloaded
  • Assessment attempt has been made
C. Examination Rescheduling

Rescheduling may be permitted subject to administrative fees and availability.

4. Training & Events

A. Public Training Programs & Workshops
  • Cancellation 10+ business days before the event: Eligible for partial refund (less administrative fee).
  • Cancellation less than 10 business days before the event: Non-refundable.
  • No-shows are not eligible for refunds.
  • Participants may request transfer to a future session, subject to availability.
B. Executive Masterclasses & Conferences

Due to limited seating and advanced preparation:

  • Fees are generally non-refundable.
  • Participant substitution may be permitted with prior written approval.

5. Corporate Training & Institutional Services

For customized in-house training, consulting, or institutional services:

  • Advance payments are non-refundable once project planning has commenced.
  • Cancellation terms will be governed by the signed corporate service agreement.

6. Digital Products & Publications

All digital products, research reports, downloadable materials, and digital certifications are non-refundable once delivered or accessed.

7. Exceptional Circumstances

Refund requests based on exceptional situations (such as documented medical emergencies) may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Approval is at the sole discretion of AIB management. Supporting documentation may be required.

8. Administrative Errors

If a payment was made in error (duplicate charge, technical error), AIB will investigate and, if confirmed, process an appropriate refund within a reasonable timeframe.

9. Refund Processing Timeline

Approved refunds will typically be processed within:

  • 10–21 business days, depending on payment provider and banking system.
  • AIB is not responsible for delays caused by third-party financial institutions or payment gateways.

10. Policy Modifications

AIB reserves the right to update this Refund & Cancellation Policy at any time. Updated policies will be published on the official website.
